Berlin by Yury Rogachev is the current featured exhibition of photography at SUTA. Yury is photographer and film-maker who has lived and works in Berlin.

I started taking photos with a Zenit camera back in Russia in early nineties. My dark room was the bathroom in our apartment and I have spent a lot of time there. I still like the feel of analogue photography but the medium has never played an important role for me. What matters is the moment. Then come the light, the mood, the movement, the colour, the look.

Earlier, I used to photograph a lot of nature, often in extreme conditions. Now, I turn my camera more and more often towards people. Each of my images has a story behind it, but if it tells you, the viewer, its own story, I do not mind. I appreciate if my photos catch your attention.

This gallery is a mix from different years with different focus. The only connecting line between the photos is not even Berlin, but the fact that these photos were taken there. Feel free to get in touch if you are interested to see more.
